Mary Verdi Obituary
Highland, NY - Mary Verdi, 90, longtime resident of Highland passed away on Friday, February 16th. Mary was born May 23, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of the late Salvatore Lauro and Rose Montaro. Mary was a member of St. James Church in Milton and also the Columbietts. On October 18, 1947 she married Joseph Verdi in Our Lady of Solace Church in Coney Island. Her loving husband of 50 years passed away November 15, 1997.
Mary is survived by her son Frank Verdi and his wife Ann of Highland, her daughters; Grace Verdi-Salcito and husband Craig of Highland, Lucia Verdi Rhodes and husband Jim of Highland, Grandchildren; Michael Rivieccio, Joseph Verdi, Stephen Rivieccio, Gina Verdi, Jennie Verdi, Marisa Verdi Liguori, Tressa Rhodes, & Zackery Rhodes, Great Grandchildren; Mia, Carter, Bianca, Frankie, Gino & Joey. She is also survived by 29 nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. Mary was loved by many and will be remembered by all for her kind and loving spirit.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, February 20th from 9am-11:30am at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 38 Main St., Highland, NY 12528. A Mass of Christian burial will follow the calling hours 12 noon at St. Marys Church, 71 Grand St, Marlboro, NY 12542 followed by burial in St. Marys Cemetery, Lattintown Rd, Marlboro, NY.
