I wish I'd known that you passed. I would have come to say goodbye. I told my kids about picking their feet up, going through a yellow light. Tell me again why we do that. I will miss you terribly. I love you, my friend.

I'm reading this today and I am so very saddened by this. I worked closely with Melina when she was at SDN and could always count on her to come to our school, cover our events, speak with our students. I often thought of her. My prayers are with Melina's family. Heaven has a beautiful Angel.

Surely a light as bright as Melina will remain with us, in the twinkling of the night sky, in the warmth of the sun, in the glistening of a spring rain. Forever remembered and loved.

Melina was funny, smart, engaging, ethical, caring; a remarkable person.
The library book sales won't be the same without her energy, thoughtfulness, and yukking it up.
I will miss her.

Melina did make a difference in her community and the Hudson Valley. She listened to her readership and improved the Southern Dutchess News. Prayers for her and the family. The Wappingers School district should have an internship program with the SDN.

Melina was always wearing a bright smile when she visited Morse to cover one of our schoolEvents. She loved to chat and we developed a great working relationship ~ frequently brainstorming ideas about news coverage via e-mail. She was thrilled to share stories about reconnecting with her birth family and how blessed she was. My condolences to all.
