Nancy Griffiths Obituary
Red Hook - Nancy M Griffiths, 77, a longtime Red Hook resident, passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at The Thompson House in Rhinebeck, NY.
Born on July 9th, 1938, in Utica, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ralph W. and Marjorie (Boland) Morgan.
Nancy married Richard D Griffiths on September 26, 1959 in Paris Hill, NY and he predeceased her on September 25, 2006.
A Registered Nurse for many years, Nancy was educated and trained in Utica. She worked extensively at both the Thompson House and Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck.
Always active, Nancy enjoyed bowling, animals, quilting, & cross stitching. She also took great enjoyment spending her summers at Lake Luzerne, NY with many close friends.
She is survived by her children; Brenda Hindle and her husband Richard Hindle of Keymar, MD, and David 'Skip" Griffiths and his wife Arlene of Red Hook, NY, her grandchildren; Dylan Griffiths, Kristina, & Roman Hindle, a sister; Donna Morgan of Washington Mills, NY, and a brother; Edward Morgan of Sauquoit,, NY along with many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Thursday, January 14th, 2016 from 4 to 7 pm.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 15th, 2016 at Burnett & White Funeral Homes, Red Hook, NY. The Reverend Fred C. Cartier will officiate. Burial will be at Bard College Cemetery, Annandale-on-Hudson.
Memorial donations may be made in Nancy's memory to the Richard & Nancy Griffiths scholarship at Bard College- Office of Development and Alumni Affairs, PO Box 5000, Annandale-on-Hudson, NY 12504-5000 or to the American Stroke Association at www.stroke.org.
Arrangements are under the direction of Burnett & White Funeral Homes 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook, NY.
