Pete's name was often heard in our home, usually having to do with a K of C event that he was involved with. My late husband, John Nash, took care of the fraternal insurance for Council 1649 from 1972 to 1983. We attended many of the dinner-dances over the years. It was always great fun. RIP Pete.

My uncle Pete set the bar high for us kids and everyone he knew with his conduct in every aspect of his life. He inspired everyone to have faith, be kind, stay active, take care of your family, give to others and always be humble. There is no other person I have ever known in my life that has made such a profound impression on me and I'm sure anyone who knew Uncle Pete understands what I mean. I believe he is watching over us and expects beyond exception that we all continue to live as he would want; happy, thankful, sincere, generous, healthy and appreciative of every day.
With all my love and gratitude to you Uncle Pete,
Kimmy

In his last three years my Dad was confined to a wheelchair and didn't get to see his brother Knights that often. One afternoon he was sitting out in front of the house when Mr. Sanfilippo drove by. Pete pulled over and parked, walked up the sidewalk and hung out visiting with Dad for some time, filling him in on all the news down at the council hall. A small gesture of kindness, but it made my Dad's day.
-Made a point to stop by the KofC Blood Drive this afternoon and donate a pint in honor of Mr. Sanfilippo.

Pete loved his family, the Village of Wappingers and the roadways of Dutchess County. He came in contact with so many people through road racing. He was a tireless performer and race director.. But he also loved baseball and basketball. I can recall my father assigning him to referee CYO basketball games at St. Mary's in Wappinger's. We shall miss him.

Words cannot express the love John and I had for Pete. John and Pete were big Brooklyn Dodger fans and were always talking baseball and sports. I look at a picture of them in their Dodger jackets and know that Pete will always have a special place in our hearts. Pete was a true gentleman. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
