Ralph A. Marinaccio, Sr.

Fishkill - Ralph A. Marinaccio, Sr., a lifelong local area resident, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh. He was 87.

Son of the late Lawrence and Rachel (Capasso) Marinaccio, he was born in Beacon on September 17, 1933. Ralph graduated from Beacon High School in 1952 and then served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean Conflict. He was stationed in Germany, where he was part of the rebuilding effort.

Ralph worked most of his life in the construction business. In the 1960s, he owned & operated Mid-County Construction, and later worked for K & A Construction. He then became a co-owner of Colonial Builders and the Hometown Deli, both companies where he was proud to work alongside his family.

He was a hard worker, but also enjoyed his social life and hobbies. He especially enjoyed gardening and worked with vegetables, flowers, and fruit trees. He loved entertaining for his family & friends.

Ralph was a well-respected and beloved member of the community. A dedicated parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill, he was instrumental in the church's Joyful Noise Prayer Group, Healing Mass, and other programs. He also worked with the church and the community in an effort to feed the homeless. Ralph dedicated his life to helping others and his caring spirit will always have a tremendous influence on his family, friends, and all who knew him.

On September 14, 2009, Ralph was predeceased by his wife Barbara Joan (Totten) Marinaccio, whom he married on November 4, 1955 at the St. Mary's Bedford Chapel in Fishkill.

He is survived by his loving family, including his fiancé and loving friend & confidant, Elizabeth Broderick; his children & their spouses: Ralph Marinaccio, Jr. (Nancy) of Wappingers Falls, Rachel Sprague (Brian) of the Town of Newburgh, Lori Wilson (Butch) of Hopewell Junction, Timothy Marinaccio (Laurie) of Poughkeepsie, Lisa Maher (Wayne) of the Town of Newburgh, and Faith Marinaccio (Jeremy White) of Fishkill; his grandchildren: Heather Marinaccio (Jason Tripaldi), Ralph Marinaccio, III (Dana), Paul Marinaccio (Nicole), Valerie Strype (Joe), Ariel Natoli (Michael), Jaime Sprague, Shelbe Sprague, Gil Wilson (Charis), Dawn Wilson, April Theiss (Mark), Candice Walker (Chris), Jordan Marinaccio, Courtney Azzone (Drew), Charlie Marinaccio, Wayne Maher, Jr., Anthony Maher, Destany White, Dylan White, and Briella White; his great-grandchildren, Victoria, Aiden, Sortia, Caellum, Ralph IV, Mason, Liana, Zoe, Kaylin, Marley, Miles, Eliza, Charlotte, Graem, Chandler, Abigail, Elliana, Hudson, and Gabriella; his brother, Thomas Marinaccio (Janis Bien); and many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, Ralph was also predeceased by his sister, Camile Price and his brother, Joseph Marinaccio.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. PLEASE NOTE: In compliance with NYS guidelines, social distancing and face masks are required and capacity is limited. All attendees should be prepared for potential extended waiting periods. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 21 at St. Mary's, followed by interment at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.

For those who are unable to attend, all services can be viewed via livestream by going to the funeral home's website.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to help the church's programs that aide feeding the homeless, c/o St. Mary Mother of the Church, P.O. Box 780, Fishkill, NY 12524.

So sorry for your loss. You are such a special family... you're lucky to know him as a wife, daughter, son or grandchild. So happy and loving when he brought everyone together. Generous, calm, loving and humorous. A truly good man. Love to you all. Our prayers for his place in Heaven.
