Richard M. Ranallo

WAPPINGERS FALLS - Richard M. Ranallo, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Friday, February 24, 2012 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 64.

Son of the late Joseph and Marie LeGru Ranallo, he was born October 8, 1947 in the Bronx. After serving his country, he married the love and light of his life, the former Gloria Benedetto, on January 30, 1969. Mrs. Ranallo survives at home in Wappingers Falls.

Richard worked at Texaco Research Center in Glenham for many years and later went on to work with CTG at IBM. He enjoyed music and was a guitar player. He enjoyed his time with his band "Royal Coachmen." Most importantly, he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Tina Marie Ranallo of Wappingers Falls, Michael Ranallo and his wife, Lynette of Hyde Park, Matthew Ranallo and Shellie of Wappingers Falls and Joseph Ranallo and his wife, Patricia of Beacon; his sister, Chris Merando of Wappingers Falls and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Gloria, I am deeply saddened to hear of Richie's death. Although it's been many years since we spent time together, I have great memories of those years when we wrote songs together, tried to establish a couple of bands and just had fun. I'll have those memories forever of course, and I'm sorry you've lost him so soon. Peace to you and your family.
