Robert T. 'Bob' Stevenson

PATTERSON - Robert T. 'Bob' Stevenson, age 85, a longtime resident of the Patterson/Holmes, NY area, formerly of Cassville, NJ, died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the Putnam Ridge Nursing Home in Brewster, NY.

Mr. Stevenson was born in Somerville, NJ on March 4, 1927 to Frank and Lillian (Lawrence) Stevenson. He graduated from Lakewood High School in Lakewood, NJ in 1945 and served in the Navy from 1945 to 1946.

Mr. Stevenson was predeceased by both his first wife, Mildred Knapp and his second wife Mildred F. Davis, whom he married on April 17, 1993 in Patterson, NY. She died in 2003.

Mr. Stevenson worked for the Gretsch Music Instrument Co. in NYC as a bookkeeper for 10 years before working for the US Postal Service at the Mahopac, NY post office for 25 years.

He was a past member of the Whaley Lake Grange.

Mr. Stevenson is survived by his sister, Carol Herbert of Tom's River, NJ, Frances Madson and her husband Jim of Kirkwood, MO and Lillian Saulich of Tallahassee, FL. Three nephews, Jeffrey Saulich, Edward Herbert Jr. and David Madson and a niece Anne Tidaback.

A funeral service will be held Friday, April 13, 2012 at 11:00am at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Patterson, NY. Interment following at the Maple Avenue Cemetery in Patterson, NY. Friends may call Friday from 10:00am to 11:00am at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bob's memory may be made The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Church Street Station, P.O. Box 780, New York, NY 10008-0780.
