"Skinny" Nevins

New Hamburg, N.Y. - Ronald A. "Skinny" Nevins, 78, of New Hamburg, passed away tuesday, January 3, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie.

He was born in New Hamburg on November 2, 1933, the son of Frank Nevins and Stella Fitzgerald. Ron attended Wappingers schools, and was a veteran of

the U.S. Navy, serving in the Seabees. He was a life member of New Hamburg Eng. Co. #1.

Ron was employed by the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #21, working for both C.B. Strain and John Ossenkop and Sons.

In May 1965, in Wappingers Falls, he married Patricia A. Vetter Nevins, who died on April 17, 1998.

Survivors include his daughter, Cheryl Resek and Martin, of Staatsburg, grandchildren, Erica and Colin Resek, a brother Fran Nevins of Poughkeepsie, a sister, Sandy Ettinger of Wappingers Falls, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Nevins.

Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, thursday 6 to 9 PM. N. Hamburg Eng. Co. service thursday at 8:00 PM

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial St. Marys Cemetery.

The Nevin's family would like to thank the New Hamburg Fire Dept. for their help during Ron's illness.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to New Hamburg Eng. Co.#1, 15 Channingville Road, Wappingers Falls, N.Y. 12590.
