Rosemary "Tootie" Rodden

Poughkeepsie - Rosemary "Tootie" Rodden, 91, of Poughkeepsie, formerly of Saugerties, NY, passed away at home on April 13, 2012. She was born on August 22, 1920 to the late Michael Lenihan and Rose Fenlon Lenihan in Kingston, NY.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Patrick W. Rodden, who passed away on March 15, 1988. She is survived by her loving daughter Lueen Anne VanBenschoten and caring son-in-law Keith VanBenschoten. Rosemary was a devoted and loving Gram to granddaughters Alyson Mary Cahill, of Saugerties, and Bridget Lynn Adams, of Brooklyn, her grandson Thomas Patrick Mirabella, of Poughkeepsie, and great-grandson Zane Patrick Cahill, of Saugerties.

Mrs. Rodden graduated from the Academy of St. Ursula and Moran's Business School. She retired from Verizon Telephone Company in 1983 after completing 32 years of service. Mrs. Rodden was an avid reader of biographies; she enjoyed shopping with her daughter and granddaughters, but most of all loved spending time with her family.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 Tuesday, April 17 at St. Martin DePorres Catholic Church at 118 Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie and burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Kingston, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of Parmele Auchmoody & Schoonmaker Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to Dutchess County Hospice Foundation, at 374 Violet Ave. Poughkeepsie, NY 12601, in Rosemary's name.

So sorry, tootie and I worked togather for many years at New York Telephone Co. she was always a pleasure to sit next to. May she rest in peace now.
