Shannon C. Burke

HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Shannon C. Burke, 27, a lifelong area resident, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital from complications following an automobile accident.

She was born in Poughkeepsie on June 25, 1986 and was a 2005 graduate of Arlington High School. A Certified Nursing Assistant who aspired to be a nurse, Shannon was employed at the Wingate at Dutchess in Fishkill.

Shannon will always be remembered for her sweet heart, her beautiful smile, and her piercing blue eyes, which lit up every room she entered. She enjoyed going to the ocean, dining out, and spending time with her family and friends. Most of all, she loved her children.

Shannon is survived by her children, Cameron A. Lynch and Fayth C. Farrisi; her mother, Pamela (McGowan) Dragonetti and her husband Arthur of Hopewell Junction; her father, William Burke of Waco, TX; her siblings, Joseph R. Gallo and his fiancée Marlene McGarrity of Esopus, Michele L. Ware-Gallo and her wife Tiffany of Hopewell Junction, and James Burke of FL; her step-sisters, Angela Dragonetti of Dover and Jennifer Dragonetti of Poughkeepsie; her grandparents, Arthur and Theresa Dragonetti of Hopewell Junction; her sister-in-law, Michele Murnane of Fishkill; her nephews, Shane and Shawn; and many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 11 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.

In Shannon's memory, donations may be made to her children and sent to Pamela Dragonetti, c/o McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., PO Box A, Hopewell Jct., NY 12533.
