Poughkeepsie - Thomas C. Cioffi, 98, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018 at home. Born in Poughkeepsie on March 11, 1920, he was the son of the late Frank and Ida Canora Cioffi. He had served in the US Army during WWII from 1938-1945. On July 23, 1944 Tom married Yolanda Nardone in Poughkeepsie and she predeceased him on May 22, 1959. He then married Sylvia Juliano, who predeceased him and then he married Angelina DiDonato and she also predeceased him. Tom had worked at Schatz Federal Ballbearings in maintenance in Poughkeepsie and he also was self-employed as a painter. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church where he as an Usher for many years. Tom was also a member of the BPOE #275 and the Moose Club. He enjoyed the dancing and dinners at both clubs. Tom was a loving father and grandfather. He loved gardening for his tomatoes, zucchini and hot peppers. He was a Yankee fan and avid golfer and card player. Tom is survived by his daughter Sharon E. and husband Dennis Miller of Wappingers Falls, NY, his brother Frank Cioffi of Spring Hill, FL, his grandchildren Jonathan Miller and Tricia Powers, as well as several nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his daughter Yolanda Sokol, brothers, Sam, Joe and Peter and sisters Antoinette, Lucy and Ann. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 3:00-7:00pm at the William G. Miller & Son Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018, at 10AM in Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main St, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery with Military Honors. If desired, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
