Venice, FL - May 28, 1925 - April 10, 2015
Veda Lyons Andrus of Venice FL, formerly of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away on April 10, 2015. Veda was the daughter of John J. and Veda Moith Lyons of Beacon, NY and is survived by her son Robert Jr.(Deborah), daughter Veda Lillian (Marie), grandson John (Kari), great grandson Benjamin, sister Aileen Darcy, sister-in-law, Marian Lyons, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in 2014 by her husband Robert Sr., married for 68 years; by her brother Jack Lyons; and sister Carolyn Bolander.
She was a graduate of Traphagen School of Design and a member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (Melzingah Chapter, Beacon NY). Her great interest was archeology and was fortunate to have visited many international sites. She spent her fun time with family and friends at Cape Cod and summer home on Lake Bomoseen, VT.
She will be buried in the family plot in her beloved Dutchess County, Fishkill, NY. Private services and burial will be held at a later date in Fishkill, NY.
