Vincent Benanti Obituary
New Paltz - Vincent Benanti, 92, passed away on December 25, 2020 at the Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck, NY. Born on May 10, 1928 in Garfield, NJ, he was the son of the late Anthony and Francis Benanti. Vincent moved to Bolognetta, Sicily when he was 5 years old and returned to the United States when he was 19. He joined the Merchant Marines until 1958. In June, 1954 he married Carmela Alessandro in Hackensack, NJ, and she preceded him January, 2017. Vincent and his wife moved to New Paltz, NY in 1974. He was employed at SUNY New Paltz until his retirement. Vincent is survived by his 2 sons; Anthony and Cheryl of Poughkeepsie, NY and Thomas of New Paltz, NY. Also surviving are his 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was also predeceased by 4 sisters. There are no calling hours and services are private. Arrangements are under the direction of the William G. Miller & Son Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
