Miramar Beach, FL - Wolfgang Peter Ludwig, of Miramar Beach, FL, formerly of Highland NY, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 3, 2017, with his loving wife of 52 years, Ursel, by his side.
Wolf was born April 19th, 1944 in Pethau, Germany. At the age of 13 Wolf started his apprenticeship as a Metzger (butcher) and discovered his passion for sausage making. In June of 1967, Wolf, following his adventurous spirit, emigrated from Germany to the US to follow his dreams of seeing the world and building a better life.
With hard work and determination, Wolf put his passion for meat and meat products to work. He began his career as a salesmen for Marcel Darshay in New Jersey. Over the years, with successes and failures peppered amongst his ventures, he ultimately launched his own business in 1977. Soon thereafter he sent his sons to learn their trades in Germany, before they returned to the US to join in the business.
Wolf built a successful business selling industrial meat processing equipment and ingredients all over the world, employing hundreds of people. As a hobby, Wolf crafted some of the finest bratwursts, hams, and bologna, which he proudly gifted to those who knew him.
As passionate as Wolf was for his craft, his true loves were his wife Ursel, whom he met as a teenager, and his family, including his two sons, Ralf Ludwig (Annette), of Accord, NY, Peter Ludwig, of New Paltz, NY, and his 8 grandchildren - Natasha, Alex, Jean Luc, Tomas, Gabriella, Ryan, Kayla, and Peter Ludwig.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Ross Wheeler officiating. A visitation will be held from 10 - 11:00 am on Friday, at Evans Funeral Home, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made the Humane Society of Jackson County, P.O. Box 567 Jefferson, GA 30549.

dass erstorben ist.

Liebe Ursel, lieber Ralf, lieber Peter, liebe Angehörige! Mit Bestürzung habe ich gestern die Nachricht erhalten, dass Wolfgang von uns gegangen ist. Mein herzliches Beileid! Ich wünsche Euch die Kraft, mit diesem schweren Verlust umzugehen!
Ich war nicht lange ein Teil von WTI, aber Wolfs Erfolgsmotto begleitet mich seitdem auf allen Wegen: Passion, Patience, Persistence! Es wird immer in Dankbarkeit mit seinem Namen und seinem Andenken verbunden sein. Das ist ein Teil der leuchtenden Spur, die er bei mir hinterlassen hat...

Liebe Ursel, Peter und Ralf und alle Eure Kinder, die wenigen Male die ich Wolf getroffen habe waren immer etwas besonderes.
Wolf hat mir immer soviel Respekt gezeigt und doch war ich der, der ihm allen Respekt haette zeigen muessen.
Wenn ich Ursel und Wolf getroffen habe war es immer als ob ich nach Hause komme (und nicht nur weil Euer Hund so heist wie ich).
Wolf lebt weiter in unseren Herzen, ich sage unser, weil meine Familie Euch genauso liebt ohne dass sie Euch jemals gesehen haben, nur von meinen Erzaehlungen.
Jedes Mal wenn ich aus Amerika nach Mexico nach Hause gekommen bin mit einem Koffer voller Schinken und Wuerste und meine Kinder Alexander und Jessica und meine Frau Dahyana und meine Schwiegereltern und Onkel und Tanten gegessen haben, haben sie mich gefragt: "woher bringst du das?, wer sind diese Leute?" und ich habe ihnen von Wolf und Ursel und Ihren Soehnen erzaehlt....
