Cecile Chartier Obituary
Services will be held today at 2:00 pm at Lensing's Oak Hill in Coralville with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville. The family will greet friends one hour before the service. Instead of flowers, the family requests memorials to the March of Dimes.
Born June 9, 1916 in Lincoln County, Rhode Island, the daughter of Rita and John Baril. Cecile was married to Francis Anthony Chartier and is survived by daughter Madeline "Maddy" Ertel of Tiffin, grandchildren, Lori Johannes (Marc) of Wales, WI., Amber Kupka (Jeremy) of North Liberty and Chris Chartier (Jenica) of Overland Park, KS.; great grandchildren, Heidi, Arthur, Hayden, Quinten, Catherine and Julia; and son-in-law, Steven Johannes of Iowa City. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis; a daughter, Linda Johannes; a granddaughter, Kari Ann Schneckner; sisters, Marie, Emily, Blanche, Aurora and Jean; and brothers, Albert, Rene, Benjamin, Gerard and Jerome.
