Gerald Wilson Obituary

Jerry passed away on Tuesday, April 23 at the University Hospital after a brief illness.
Memorial services are pending, details of the visitation and funeral services will be announced in the near future.
Gerald "Jerry" Wilson was born in Iowa City March 18, 1938, the son of Edward and Mary Alice Reha Wilson. He was a lifelong resident of Muscatine County.
Jerry married Nancy Isabel on February 9, 1957 in West Liberty, they were parents to three children: Janet, Dean and Peggy Wilson. Nancy passed away in 1962. Jerry married Joyce Isabel in June, 1963 and adopted Melissa "Missy" Bickford.
He was employed at Wiele Chevrolet at West Liberty. Previously he was employed at Wilson Chevrolet in Durant. He served for many years as a City Council member and Mayor of Atalissa. He worked as a mechanic for all his adult life. He was a member of several camping groups through the years.
Survivors are his wife Joyce, two daughters Janet (Tom) Boulund, Bettendorf; Peggy (Brian) Johnson, Iowa City; seven grandchildren Zac Boulund, Aurora, IL; Jill (Dave) Naab, Bettendorf; Lisa Salemink, Des Moines and Kelli Salemink, Iowa City; Chad (Brooke) Morrison and their daughters, Isabel, Ava and Amelia, and Andy (Kayla) Morrison and their daughter, Natalie Morrison, all of West Liberty; Travis (Yolanda) Morrison, Atlanta, GA.
He was preceded in death by wife Nancy, son Dean, his parents, Edward and Mary Alice Wilson, two brothers, Gary and Mike, daughter Melissa "Missy" Morrison, and great-grandson Weston Morrison.
In lieu of flowers, it was requested that donations be made to Iowa City Hospice.
