Jody Schudel Obituary

A celebration of life for Jody R. Knepp Schudel, 31, of rural Kalona was held Friday, June 10, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the East Union Mennonite Church in rural Kalona with Pastor Jay Miiller officiating. Memorial contributions can be given to Jody's Benefit Auction in care of the East Union Mennonite Church. Jody died Monday, June 06, 2011 at her home in rural Kalona following a courageous four and a half year battle with brain cancer.
Jody Raylene Knepp was born January 18, 1980 in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Ed and Bea (Hershberger) Knepp. She graduated from Iowa Mennonite School in 1998 and attended Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. On June 22, 2002 she was united in marriage to Rob Schudel at the East Union Mennonite Church, the couple later divorced. Jody was employed at Rockwell-Collins in Coralville for the past 6 years. She was a member of the East Union Mennonite Church.
Survivors include her mother, Bea Knepp of Kalona, four brothers and spouses, Randy (Cathy) Knepp of Afton, Oklahoma, Lyn (Ami) Knepp of Denmark, Iowa, Brad Knepp of Iowa City, Ryan (LaVerda) Knepp of Wellman, two sisters, Darla (Eddie) Trejo of Melbourne, Australia, and Jina (Wally) Almquist of Des Moines, Iowa, 14 nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Bailey.
Preceding Jody in death was her father, Ed Knepp in July of 1994, one brother, Eddie Knepp, in May of 1968, one sister, Diane Knepp in February of 1970, paternal grandparents, John and Mary Knepp and maternal grandparents, Clyde and Ollie Hershberger.
