Bill Williams (better known as Gabby) is a wonderful memory from my high school years. He was a Major League baseball junkie, who operated the baseball scoreboard at Racine's. I went there almost every day during the summers. He was a wonderful man in every way. I talked to him at length about three years ago. His memory of all things in Iowa City sports was very sharp.

My sympathy to family and friends of Bill. I started at the VA in 1966 and Bill took me under his wing. He was a good teacher which led me to my role in management. He deeply cared about his job and others around him.
