Jerry Kurtti Obituary
He was born on December 12, 1939, in Park Rapids, Minnesota to Dan and Helen Kurtti. Jerry graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1957 where he discovered his love for sports, playing football and wrestling. After high school, he proudly served in the United States Navy. In 1963, he married the love of his life, Jeanette Breitbach and together they shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. They were blessed with two daughters, Kim and Jill.
A talented and creative artist, Jerry had a lifelong passion for creating and building. He worked as a carpenter before owning and operating an acoustical ceiling company for many years. He also loved traveling, farming, collecting classic cars and 1950s rock 'n' roll music.
He loved spending time with his family at their cabin on Clearwater Lake. He also enjoyed trips to their home on Marco Island and many vacations to Disney World with family and friends. He took great joy in watching and traveling to his grandchildren's sporting events all across the United States.
Above all, Jerry loved God and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He adored his two daughters, Kim and Jill and his four grandchildren, Nash, Slade, Skye, and Saige, who were the pride and joy of his life. He also cherished his many wonderful friends and the time spent with them.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette; his daughters, Kim Dalzell (Steve) and Jill Sorensen; grandchildren, Nash, Slade, Skye, and Saige; brother, Paul Kurtti; and many dear relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dan and Helen Kurtti, sister-in-law Arlene Kurtti, and mother and father-in-law Marie and Nick Breitbach.
A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at Life In Christ Lutheran Church in Albertville on Saturday, November 22, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and a service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
