Stacey Smith Obituary
Stacey L. Smith, 52, of Alma passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019, in Fort Smith. She was born Jan. 7, 1966, in Prairie Grove. She was a lifelong resident of Crawford County, a 1984 graduate of Van Buren High School, a member of Van Buren Rotary Club, a board member of Van Buren Chamber of Commerce, attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville for two years and in 1986 she began her career in banking. In July of 2000, she went to work for First Community Bank in Van Buren when it first opened. First Community Bank then became Generations Bank. She was a loan officer there and became president of Van Buren Branch of Generations Bank in January of 2018. She loved animals, especially her rescue cats T.C., Toby, A.K. and Chubbs.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Randy Smith of the home; her parents, Jimmy and Linda Barnes of Kibler; a brother, Shawn Barnes and wife Kim of Heber Springs; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Van Buren, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be the staff of Edwards Family of Funeral Homes — Edwards, Edwards Van-Alma and Fentress Mortuary.
The family will visit with friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Almost Home Shelter, 3390 Pointer Trail E., Van Buren, AR 72956.

I had the privilege of working with Stacy in the mid 80's at Superior Federal Bank, FSB. She was such a beautiful person inside and out, and we had so many laughs together. I fondly look back at those times and can truly say they were such great times!
One day Stacy was trying to roll her teller stool back and she flew backwards. Thank goodness she was not hurt! We all got so tickled and Stacy was the first one to begin the laughter! What a wonderful and beautiful person. Now she is making heaven even sweeter.
I will be praying for Stacy's family. May God bless and comfort you.

Randy and family~ Praying for you all during this time. Stacey was one of the sweetest people I've known. This picture reminded me of all the times I would see her picture in the paper for being promoted in the banking business. And now, once again, she has had the greatest promotion of all.
