Josolyn Erickson-Bradshaw Obituary

On Friday, October 13, 2023, Josolyn Erickson-Bradshaw, daughter of Bruce and Phyllis Erickson of Felton, CA., passed away at age 51 after complications resulting from leg surgery. She was surrounded by family and friends at her passing and leaves behind her husband, Don Bradshaw, son, Brady Bradshaw and sisters, Sonia Estes and Erika Stevens and their families.

Josolyn attended San Lorenzo Valley High School and was very active in sports. She achieved the honor of Best All Around Athlete in 1980. After graduation she attended Sacramento State University and played division one soccer and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. She went on to work for the County of Sacramento Probation Department and ended her career as a Senior Deputy Probation Officer after 13 years of service to be a stay-at-home mom.

Josolyn was very active in championing her son, Brady's, on-going school and sports activities. She was an avid reader and movie-goer, and her love of animals led her to volunteer with the SPCA in Sacramento for many years. Although it has been two years since the passing of Josolyn I am absolutely devastated to come across this news now. I met Josolyn during her teen years and was a friend and mentor to her. We first met at Camp Hammer and became pen pals as this was quite sometime before emails. I was so proud of her for going to Sac St. We chatted briefly on and off as I was in grad school in Washington State. Life got busy for the both of us and well life just happens.

There were many times I wondered how Josolyn was doing in life. I was too busy to stop and reach out, but thought of her often. Only a few weeks ago I decided to do a search and came across this obituary. I am absolutely heartbroken. I didn't think it was Josolyn, but I discovered the same senior picture that she sent me many many years ago is displayed on here. I'm sorry I did not stay connected Josolyn.

May the Lord continue to comfort the Erickson-Brashaw families and friends. Thank you for your friendship through the years Josolyn.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted Matthew 5:4
