Ann Englert Obituary

Ann Catherine Englert (Kurtzworth) passed away suddenly in her home on April 1, 2020 at the age of 62. She was born on June 26, 1957 in Buffalo, NY to Dorothy and Alvin Kurtzworth, who proceed her in death. Ann is survived by her children, Chantal and Peter Englert, grandson Honoré Guillot, and her brothers and sister Christopher Kurtzworth, Claudia Kurtzworth, Michael Kurtzworth, and Peter Kurtzworth as well as their children and grandchildren. Ann is also survived by Mark Goldsmith, her long-term mate for whom Ann was the love of his life.

Ann always put others' needs before her own. Her caring nature and selflessness will be remembered by all who knew her. Ann dedicated many years of her life to working with adults with physical and mental disabilities, first with Catholic Charities and then with Broome Developmental Center. She treated everyone with dignity and respect, but also knew how to make people feel special and appreciated.

Ann also loved to make people laugh. She had a wonderful and enduring sense of humor, which she used to get through difficult times. She was a woman of unmeasurable strength, courage, and understanding, helping those around her to overcome their own personal challenges, big or small.

Beloved sister, mother and grandmother, Ann will be deeply missed by her family and her friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ann's name to the Broome County Humane Society.

So sorry to hear this sad news. I grew up in Tonawanda on Morgan Street and spent endless hours with the Kurtzworth family. When we were just young kids, Ann was the driving force in setting up a neighborhood MD carnival and various other childhood activities. She loved to play school during the Summer. Ann was the teacher and tried real hard to keep her brothers Mike and Pete and a few others in line. In fact, Ann taught me how to write the numerical digit 8. She was also a babysitter for us 4 Adams family kids. Way too young for this. My condolences to her family.

My cousin Annie.. I will always remember her as kind, fun, funny, sensitive, never a harsh word, always a smile on her face. My Mom, her Aunt Pat, just adored her. They were always laughing when they were together. The last time I was with Annie she was cheering up her Uncle Gene (my Dad) at the nursing home and we talked about our faith in Jesus. So grateful for that wonderful memory. What a joyous reunion there was in heaven on April 1st. My prayers for comfort and faith are with you Chantal, Pete, and all who loved her.

Every friend is a gift, a blessing, a reason to be grateful. And I'm so grateful to have you as a life long friend. And Ann thank you for being a part of my journey. I'll miss you my dear friend. Till we meet again my thoughts and prayers are with you Peter & Chantel. And The Kurtzworth Family. ❤
