Bernice E. (Williams) Adessa
of ApalachinBernice E. (Williams) Adessa, age 92, former Remington Rand employee, left peacefully with the Lord on Saturday, May 8, 2004. She was born September 26, 1911 in Corning, N.Y., the daughter of the late Walter E. and Leslie (Schoonover) Morse. Her first husband, Thomas M. Williams; her second husband, Phillip P. Adessa; and her son, Terry E. Williams, predeceased her. She is survived by her son, Thomas W. (Barbara) Williams; daughter-in-law, Arline M. (Terry) Williams; daughter, Marcia L. (William) Holdsworth; grandchildren, David E. Williams, Lynn E. (Dennis) McAvoy, Todd E. (Diane) Williams, Matthew A. (Denise) Williams, Kevin T. (Kristen) Williams, Clark T. Holdsworth and Neil W. Holdsworth; great-grandchildren, Jacob E. Williams and Ryan T. Williams; along with several nieces and nephews and their families and many friends. Bernice was a strong, loving, compassionate, adaptable and optimistic person with a great sense of humor and love of life. She saw the good in every situation and always put others first. She will be dearly missed and forever touched by all who knew her.
In accordance with Bernice's wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. Her cremation will take place at the Southport Crematorium, Inc. at the convenience of her family. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, N.Y., on Saturday, June 26, 2004, at 1 p.m. The Reverend Don Guiles will officiate. Her ashes will be taken to the Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park in Clearwater, Fla. Memorial Donations may be directed to the American Heart Association, Attn: Heart Gifts, P.O.
