Bertie Rutledge Lord
of Conklin
Bertie Rutledge Lord, 61, of Conklin, died Saturday evening, February 17, 2007, at Wilson Memorial Hospital. She was predeceased by her mother, Norma R. Lord. She is survived by her father, Wilson Earl "Bill" Lord and Flora Evans, Binghamton; a sister, Martha O'Hara, Mobile, Alabama; a brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Becky Lord, Apalachin; a niece, Tina and Rob Atticks, Vestal and their children, Kaylee and Collin; two nephews, Jason and Shayne Prince, Vestal, and their son, Aedan, Wilson Lord, Apalachin; one aunt, Alice Foster, Honesdale, Pa.; several cousins; and special friends, Scott, Renee and Gage Goforth, Lillian Nezelek, Carol Oestrich, Wayne and Joyce Bowdish, Surya, Rani and Jay Toraty. She was a member of the Conklin Presbyterian Church, and a retired 36 year high school teacher from the Binghamton City School District, having taught the I.B. English Program. She was a life member of the Equinunk Historical Society.
Memorial Services will be held at the Conklin Presbyterian Church, 1175 Conklin Rd., on Friday at 11 a.m. Rev. Dr. Stephen W. Starzer, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Kirkwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Flood Relief at Conklin Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 151 Conklin, N.Y. 13748. A special thanks to the staff at Wilson Memorial Hospital South Tower 5.
