Bruce Strong Obituary
Bruce "Hoot" Strong
of Candor
Bruce M. Strong, 63, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 30, 2009. Hoot was born May 17, 1946 and resided his entire life in Candor. He was predeceased by his parents, Sam and Pieney Strong; and very recently by his brother, Donald, in New Mexico. He is survived by his devoted wife, Diane Rice Strong; his siblings, Jean (Alan) Ahart, Candor, Valerie (Bob) Houck, Candor, Nancy Ward (Lynn Johnson), Rio Rancho, NM. He enjoyed a special relationship with his devoted brother, Douglas. Hoot is also survived by his stepsons, Shane Gallagher, Rochester, Chad Gallagher, Petaluma, CA, David Paboojian and his children, Monica and John; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Hoot spent his entire life on the family dairy farm, first working with his father and then continuing to run the farm after his father's death. He loved hunting, watching the wonders of nature around him, and being with his many friends. Hoot had a wonderful sense of humor and despite his long illness, it never faded.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 4, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Candor, with the Rev. Phil Jordan, officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. To Hoot's family,
Sorry to hear of your lose. Hoot was always the same friendly person no matter where you seen him. He will surely be missed. You are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Special prayers for Douglas at this time of grieving. I cherish my memories that I had helping with Sam. I was blessed for that opportunity to know the family.
