David LaBarre Obituary

David George LaBarre

Conklin: went to be with his parents and other family members on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Binghamton General Hospital. He was predeceased by his father Charles David LaBarre, and his mother Erva Hazel (Clow) LaBarre, sister Janet Strnatka brothers Leon and Robert LaBarre. He is survived by his daughter Melissa LaBarre, son and daughter in-law Jason and Shannon LaBarre, grandchildren Danica and Easton LaBarre. He is also survived by his brother Charles Donald LaBarre, sisters Teressa (Francis) Basa, Evelyn Torrey, Dorothy (Gordon) Steere, sister in-law Carolyn LaBarre, brother and sister in-law LaValle and Marion LaBarre, and sisters Donna Stack and Lois (James) Karns. He is also survived by the mother of his children Christine LaBarre. Also surviving are many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. David loved working on his family farm until he found his true passion of running his own business, Nature's Best Lawn Care. He particularly enjoyed the many wonderful customers he had. He was an avid hunter, snowmobiler, and outdoorsman. Above all David enjoyed spending time with his children especially at their sporting events. The pride and joy in David's eyes were his precious grandchildren who had their "Papa" wrapped around their fingers. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11am at the Hawleyton United Methodist Church 901 Hawleyton Road Binghamton. His Pastor the Rev. William Puckey will officiate. Burial will be in the Conklin Cemetery in the spring. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-5pm at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc. 428 Main Street Johnson City. In lieu of flowers David requested that donations in his memory be made to a college fund for "The LaBarre Grandchildren" at Peoples Neighborhood Bank 1026 Conklin Road, Conklin, NY 13748.

My heartfelt condolences to Dave's family. We spent much time together growing up and the experiences I had with him on the farm have served me well in my life. We had great fun in little league and junior league together. I so remember riding on the tractor with him raking and bailing hay and just being kids. They are wonderful memories for me. My sympathies to all the LaBarre Family.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it's the memories of you that are the most precious.
