With the 1 year anniversary of Doug's passing soon here, I send my thoughts and prayers for all Doug's loved ones. I always enjoyed having Doug in my water fitness classes at the YMCA. He had a great sense of humor, a kind heart and a quick smile. He also worked hard in class...I teased him about turning 75...I said you are not supposed to make yourself older when you "lie" about your age. I missed seeing Doug in class and heard about his passing more than a month after...or I would have been there. I feel blessed to have known such a special man. You are all on my heart this week.

I am very saddened that Doug has passed. He was a very close friend of my oldest brother, Doug Hoagland (died 2003). They were in Boy Scouts together and he was best man for my brother's marriage to Sally Mott. My condolences.

I am truly sorry for your lost. I had only known him a couple months as I had the pleasure of being on his bowling team, and looked forward to getting to know him better. He was truly excited to be going to the track and field event, as he had been for many years it sounds, as it kept him feeling young, he said. I am so very sorry!
