Eileen Eddy Obituary
On July 24, 2016, Eileen Eddy, of Newark Valley, NY passed away at the age of 89 years. Eileen was predeceased by her loving husband, Roger L. Eddy, in 2013. Eileen was born April 19, 1927 in Belfast, Northern Ireland and was predeceased by her mother and father, Charles Dakin and Lizzie Louisa (May) Massey; her brothers, Sydney, George and Dick Massey; her sister, Annie. Eileen is survived by her children, Colleen Eddy, Roger (Martha) Eddy, Charles (Penny) Eddy and Sue (Darrell) Wright; six grandchildren, Kelly (Tracy) Floyd, Julie (Ray) Marquez, Robin (David) Eddy McLain, Patrick Eddy, Carrie and Dakin Wright; three great-grandchildren, Eric and Ryan Floyd, Chloe Marquez; sister-in-law, Gloria Massey Austin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In her younger years she enjoyed walking, knitting, playing cards, word games, puzzles and camping. During their retirement years, she and Roger spent 30 winters in Myrtle Beach, SC. The family thanks the staff of Castle Gardens and Elderwood Acute Care for their loving care of Eileen in her final days. In honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Arrangements were entrusted to Tioga Point Crematory, Athens, PA.
