Pritchard, Elliot W.

Swansea, SC: Elliot W. Pritchard, 75, of Swansea, SC, went to be with his Lord on January 11, 2012. Funeral services were held on Monday January 16, 2012 at Swansea First Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Wilder, Rev. John Harmon and Rev. Mark Hardenbrook officiating. Burial was at the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery, in Swansea, SC. Elliot was born July 12, 1936, a son of the late William and Avis (Butts) Pritchard of Masonville, NY. He graduated from Sidney Central School class of 1954. He then joined the United States Air Force and served from 1954 to 1958. Elliot married Shirley Palmatier on June 26, 1959 in Masonville, NY. A few years later he and his family moved to Bliss, NY. After Shirley's death in February 1996, he married his present wife Betty (Stabler) Pritchard on June 26, 1999 in Swansea, SC. Elliot was retired from Motorola Corporation of Arcade, NY. He was a former member and Deacon of the Bliss Baptist Church in Bliss, NY and a present member and Deacon at the Swansea First Baptist Church. He sang in the choir for both churches. Elliot was a member of the Masons, Woodmen of the World and Kiwanis International. He was a true animal lover, having been around them his entire life. His recent love was his miniature horses that he trained. He was often seen riding with his great-grandchildren and neighbor's children with his favorite pony Sonny pulling the cart. He also enjoyed taking his petting zoo to nearby church and school events and birthday parties. Moses the camel was always enjoyed by those attending. His true joy was taking his pony cart in Christmas parades. In addition to Elliot's wife Betty, he is survived by four sons: David (Christina) Pritchard of Harpursville, NY, Scott (Laurie) Pritchard of King, NC, William Pritchard of Wingdale, NY, Mark Pritchard of Murfreesboro, TN; daughter Michele (Keith) Robb of Warsaw, NY; stepson Freddie Jr. (Catherine) Stabler of Swansea, SC; stepdaughters Sherrell Fulmer and Rhonda (Fred) Rast both of Swansea, SC; brother Calvin Pritchard of Plainfield, CT; sisters Deloris Mattison of La Crescent, MN; Frances Carroll and Gail Wormsley, both of Masonville, NY. Elliot is also survived by 6 grandsons: Neil (Brandy) Larmon, Jacob Pritchard, Michael, Matthew, Nicholas and Alexander Pritchard; 4 granddaughters: Brooke (Chad) Eastman, Brittanie Schell, Rebecca and Shannon Pritchard; a step-grandson Charlie Stabler; a step-grandson-in-law Dusty Allen; 2 step-granddaughters: Claudia Fulmer and Candice (John) Geiger; 3 great-grandsons: Caleb Eastman, Matthew Browne and Caden Burch; 2 great-granddaughters: Peyton and Taylor Eastman; and 5 step-great-granddaughters: Alexis Fulmer, Adelyn and McKenly Allen, Ainsley and Caroline Geiger. Elliot is also predeceased by a grandson, Nick Larmon, and step-granddaughter Chandler Allen. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service to be held at the Masonville Federated Church, Masonville, NY on Saturday May 19th at 1 p.m. with Reverend David Gatje officiating. Memorials may be made in Elliot's name to Swansea First Baptist Church, PO Box 550, Swansea, SC 29160 or to The Masonville Federated Church, PO Box 279, Masonville, NY 13804. Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home (www.mcalhanyfh.com) in North, SC was in charge of arrangements.
