It has been 42 years since I left my administrative position at Wilson Memorial Hospital and since I last saw Dr.Elmer Zinner. Despite that long absence, I have thought of Elmer many times. He was a brilliant physician but, equally important, he was an extraordinary human being. Elmer & I worked with each other on a daily basis & I learned so much from him that has aided me in my own professional career. The world suffers without him!

Dr. Zinner was the living definition of the word doctor. Forty-two years ago he, though not having a private practice at that time, took me as a patient telling me he'd get me my very elusive diagnosis and then turn me over to another doctor for care. He did what he promised and took me back as a patient when the doctors he sent me to retired. He was compassionate, caring, thorough, a man of his word and I've told many people through all these years about his dedication, empathy and patient demeanor. My sympathy to his family. He truly was a wonderful man.
