Frank G. Darcangelo
of Binghamton
Frank G. Darcangelo, 85, of Binghamton, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 7, 2004, at the Susquehanna Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his wife, Inez (Jackson) Darcangelo; a son, James Darcangelo; his parents, Assunta (DePeppi) and Joseph Darcangelo; four brothers, John (Hutch), Tony, Tom and William; two sisters, Daisy and Anne. He is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Alberto Levis, Vestal, Carol and Daniel Zembek, Binghamton, Deborah and Bruce Sovine, S.C., Terry Donato and Thomas Donato, Johnson City; grandchildren, Kara and Chrissy Donato, Lauri and John Maxim, Tommy Jindra, Jennifer and John Dempsey, Jared and Charis Zembek, Lisa Zembek, Rena and Maria Levis; great-grandchildren, Charles and Devona; a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Alfonso Romano, Binghamton; a brother-in-law, Carl Newman, Calif.; also several nieces and nephews. He retired as an Operating Engineer with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local # 410 in Syracuse. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army in the Aleutian Islands. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Elfrieda, and also the staff on the second floor at Susquehanna Nursing Home for the care given to Frank.
Funeral services will be held at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. at SS. Cyril and Methodius Church, Binghamton, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to the SS. Cyril and Methodius Church, 148 Clinton St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905 in Frank G. Darcangelo's memory.
