Gance John Obituary
of Endicott
John Gance, Sr., died Monday, December 10, 2007, at the age of 99. He was predeceased by his wife, Louise (Corino) Gance; and his son, John Gance, Jr. He is survived by his sisters-in-law, Helen (Corino) Ferris, Dolly (Corino) Kiral, Fanny and Herman Yurman, Vincy Corino, Dilys Corino; brother-in-law, George Corino; also many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Tracy Fudal; his daughter-in-law, Sylvia Gance; his grandchildren, John and Terri Gance, Vince and Phylis Gance, Chris and Linda Gance, Beth and Steve Virkler; his great-grandchildren, Vicki and Vinnie Gance, Rusty, Shelby, and Avery Virkler. John came to the United States from Sicily in 1913 and in his early years helped out in his family's grocery store. He later worked for Endicott-Johnson with 40 years of service. His true passion came later in life after retiring from E-J when he helped out with much vigor and gusto at his family's business where he was known and loved by many.
At John's request, funeral services will be private and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc.

Please accept my condolences on John Sr's. passing.
I met him when his wife; Louise and I worked at the EJBldg. on Main St. I got a ride home; afew times with both of them and he was so proud of his car; which was brand new at that time!
He lived a long life and drove many, many years!

We have fond memories of Uncle John when he lived with us & helped our Dad in the store. He was our Sunday chauffeur & took all 7 of us kids for rides in the car our Dad bought just for that purpose! My parents chose John as my middle name. Our sympathies go out to you; another of our own gone. Al & Maisie Gance
