John Franks Obituary
John M. Franks, 84, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 11, 2015. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael & Mary Franks; sisters, Catherine, Shirley, Maryann; and brother, Robert. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Franks; daughter, Sherry Iversen & John Wise; 3 grandchildren, Michael, Jessica (Jason) and Justin Iversen; 2 great-grandchildren, Dylan and Rylan; a sister, Dolores Frayer; brother, Nicholas Franks; many nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Ann Mardirosian. John was a retired employee of Fairbanks Valve. He was devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. If anyone needed anything fixed, they would call John. He loved the horses, the racetrack and OTB. Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 PM on Friday, December 18, 2015 at the home of Sherry Iversen, 628 W. Wendell St., Endicott, NY 13760. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM, with Deacon Sandra Kadlecik officiating. John will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Arrangements by Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc.

John was one of the Icons in the 1st ward when I was growing up. I was in the same class as his brother, Bobby, and sister, Shirley, at Daniel Dickinson school. To his wife, Betty and children, grandchildren and family I send love and happy memories of the Franks. Ron Capalaces
