John Hubbs Obituary

Hubbs, John H.

John H. Hubbs, 82, of Binghamton, passed away on February 3, 2017. John was born on June 4, 1934 in Canastota, New York. He was predeceased by brothers, Dean and Daniel and by sisters, Marjorie and Wilma. He is survived by sisters, Mary Ella, Jean and Dave Geer, Linda and Sue. He was also survived by his special friends who took care of him Leonard and Joyce Steele and by his lifelong friend Tom Vianese who was always there to help him. John was a retired art teacher from Chenango Valley High School and he could remember all of his students names. John was in the ROTC Reserves and in the National Guard. John attended Cornell University and Buffalo State University and received his B.A.. He received his post-graduate degree from Syracuse University. John was a very kind and loving person to everyone that knew him. He will be truly missed. At John's request there will be no calling hours or service and he has donated his body to Upstate Medical Hospital in Syracuse for research for medical students. The family will have a private memorial service in the future. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice or to SUNY Upstate Medical Center for future research. A special thank you to hospice staff, Nidia, Ona, Heidi and Diane for their kindness to John and their care for him in his final days. Arrangements are under the direction of Root Funeral Home 23 North Chenango Street, Greene, New York 13778 and condolences may be sent to the family at www.rootfh.com.
