Joyce Lisick Gober, 71, fell asleep in the Lord on Thursday afternoon, October 2, 2008, at Lourdes Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Susan (Halaburka) Lisick; two brothers, John Jr. and William Lisick; a sister, Margaret Timko. She is survived by her son, Joseph S. Gober Jr. and Earl Newhart, Interlaken; three daughters, Joyce M. and Ronald L. Williams, Hampstead, Md., Jo Anne M. and Richard M. Webb, Kirkwood, Veronica S. Gober, Binghamton; six grandchildren, Brittany, Anthony, Dustin, Dylan, Adrian, and Adrianna; sister-in-law, Sally Lisick, Endwell; brother-in-law, Steven Timko, Binghamton; and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. Michael's Greek Catholic Church and a former member of St. Michael's Recreation Board of Directors. She was a retired employee of the Binghamton School District. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, traveling to her son's winery, Americana Vineyards, reading and crocheting.
A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated by the Very Rev. Protopresbyter James Dutko on Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Greek Catholic Church, 292 Clinton Street, Binghamton. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Rev. Dutko will conduct a prayer service Monday, 3 p.m. at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect St., Binghamton, where the family will receive friends Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Contributions may be made in Joyce's memory to the St. Michael's Cemetery Fund.
