Julius Nosewicz Obituary

Julius Nosewicz
of Vestal
Julius Nosewicz, 83, of Vestal, followed his wife, Dorothy to heaven on August 7, 2008. Born on January 19, 1925, Julius was a lifetime resident of the area. He is survived by his three children, Gerald, Raymond, and Joelene; four granddaughters, Sacha, Angela, Lindsay, and Elizabeth; seven great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Jane Nosewicz; a large extended family, and great friends. Julius was one of a kind. A WWII veteran who grew up during the Great Depression, he was committed to his family and made lifelong friends. For several years, he was a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America, a perfect fit, because he always lived by the scout law. His influence on the young men of the community lingers today. His favorite pastime was puttering, and he excelled at fixing things to make them last forever. He had a talent for making useful things out of nothing, as he never forgot how difficult things were growing up during the depression. He worked hard, enjoyed his family, his home, and traveling with Dorothy.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on August 16th at the Vestal Center United Methodist Church, 478 West Hill Rd., Vestal, N.Y. 13850. He is deeply missed but will be in our hearts forever.
