Karen Levan Obituary
Karen Wakula Levan, 63, of Vestal, NY passed away November 16, 2015 at the Cortland Regional Nursing Facility after a courageous battle with cancer. Karen was born June 20, 1952 in Cortland the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Seamans Wakula. Karen was a graduate of Cortland High School, had been employed as a nurse's aide, and had been employed by the Cortland Standard for several years, but most recently at Smokin Joe's Mini Mart in PA. Karen is survived by her husband, Dennis Levan of Cortland; her sister, Patricia (Jeffrey) Seibert of Cortland; brother, Gary (Wendy) Wakula of Marathon; nephews, Sam Seibert of Camillus, Tim Seibert of Rochester; her feline companions, Moki, Mia and Jagger; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 - 4 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home 9 Lincoln Ave. Cortland. Private memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery Groton. My condolences to Karen's family and friends. It is rare to find such a witty, caring and loving friend. To know Karen was to love her. I pray her little furbies can find a home that offers them all that Karen offered them. You mean alot to me dear friend. Rest in peace and ride free.
