Kari Smith Obituary
Our Beloved Daughter Kari lost her battle with the disease of opiate addiction. She teleported to the Mother Ship on 8/24/16 to join family and friends who were awaiting her arrival. She left behind her beloved son Vincent, her father David W. Smith, her mother Sue Smith, her sister Janelle Smith, and her grandmother Rose Smith as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and very dear friends. She was resourcefully self employed as a talented seamstress, artist, and Grand Wizard of Perpetual Yardsale. A Celebration of Life will held at Vestal Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum on Saturday September 10th. Calling hours will be from 2:00-4:00pm. Memorial service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the family who will create a college fund for Vincent. If you INSIST on sending flowers, please send all RED. It was her favorite color and her family's most cherished nickname for her.

To Dave, Sue, Janelle and Vinnie, I am heartbroken over the passing of Kari. I haven't seen her since Vinnie was a few months old ( I still have pictures of Kari and him) but I wrote her a note telling her if I ever ran into her at some point, I would give her a big hug. As so many others said, she had the best smile and she was a kind person and so talented. She loved her boy so much. She is at peace now and I will remember her as the pretty, artistic, kind person she was. Prayers for strength as you cope with your grief go out to you.

Kari and I met and we're briefly acquainted in 2006 when we worked together. I remember Kari for her magnetic personality, energy, friendliness, being so down-to-earth, her beautiful smile, her blue eyes, and how much she loved her son!
Her loss is heart breaking! I wish I was seeing her again rather than remembering her and saying goodbye. I am grateful for our paths crossing and all-too-brief acquaintance.
