Dear Hassett Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I worked w/ Lee for a few years at DMV. He was so funny! Always had a comeback and definately loved using any line from a movie! He will be sadly missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Hassett family during this time.I had the pleasure of working with Lee at River Mede many years ago. Lee would sing in the residents dining room for the residents and staff. He had a beautiful angelic voice. I was also lucky enough to be on his Email and Christmas card lists.

Lee had such a zest for life and you could always count on him to raise your spirits. I will miss the emails he sent to me that always seem to come when I really needed a laugh or a kind word, almost like he could sense what I was feeling. I will truly miss him, but I will always remember him fondly and with a smile. Lee will always be in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him.

I am extremely sorry for your loss. Lee was a great guy. Funny, smart, opinionated and always ready to lend a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on or the latest gossip. I worked with him at OFB many years ago and was on his Christmas card list, I have moved alot and I've usually been the person he had to track down an address for....but just that simple thing - tells the story of Lee...he didn't just forget you after a few years - once you were a friend - you were always a friend. What else can you say about a person like that? Except that I'll miss him and think of him every time I hear a classical music piece or an opera....something that he made me appreciate. Thanks, Lee!

I have only known Lee 5 short years but he was a force of nature. He had a spirit I will never forget. His service was truly inspiring. He would be proud. My heart goes out to his family, something he truly cherished. Keep his memory alive by remaining close because he is still with us in so many ways. Our relationship with this truly amazing man is not over just different. Rest in peace buddy. You truly did have a big heart that touched the hearts of everyone that crossed your path.

I worked with Lee for 7 years and enjoyed his friendship so much. I will miss picking up the phone and hearing him say "Hi, it's Lee". Just the sound of his voice perked me up!!! I loved hearing about his family and his life. No one could tell a story like Lee. I don't think I ever talked to him that I didn't end up laughing. He was so gifted at recounting movies complete with dialogue. I will never see The Wizard of Oz without thinking of him!!! He will be greatly missed.

Lee will be missed by many people, and my heart goes out to his family. He was such a positive person, I never heard him say an unkind word about anyone. We were co-workers at Worker's Comp., we started together. Whenever I would get a phone call, he would tell me by breaking out in song, "Oh Donna" and I loved hearing it every time, always made me smile and laugh. He was real good at that, making others smile, a caring and gentle person.

I am so sorry for your loss. Lee was a great guy. I worked with him at OFB and he was a pleasure to be around. He would do anything that was asked of him but once in a while he'd say "I'd rather drink hemlock!" We exchanged Christmas cards every year and sometimes I'd see him in the grocery store. He'd also call me if he needed somone's address or telephone number. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. How sad that he's gone.

I worked with Lee at OFB many years ago; he made coming to work a joy! His kindness, compassion and love of humanity made clients, as well as staff, look at the strengths in people and not the negatives. We shared many laughs, great conversations about "hair"... I still have the cassette (!) tape he made me of Amadeus. His imitation of "Wolfie" was hillarious! I am so saddened to hear he is no longer in this life as we know it but comforted to know that those who loved him will see him on the other side. Love you Lee, fondly, Bon Bon

My cousin Chris summed it up very well. Many people loved Lee, especially those in the Bagnetto family.

He was an incredibly giving person and gave much of himself to our family. Even when Lee wasn’t getting anything in return, he kept on giving. He was an incredibly loving human being. Everywhere he went he spread joy. He had an energy about him that could not be contained.

I'm so grateful to have known him. I'll carry his memory with me always. Most of all, I'll try to follow his example in life and treat others as he treated them with love, kindness, understanding and generosity.

I can remember the day I met Lee and we have remained friends to this day. Lee and I went thru alot together with there always being laughter in the mix. We were constant companions for many years and we stayed in touch. We laughed, cried and grew up together and once you met Lee , you never forgot him. I loved his hair......I saw him every time I came home and I'm gonna miss him. I wish Lee's family peace as I know he has now found it. God Bless

Lee
"It is truly amazing the number of lives you touched with your generosity and warm heartedness. There certainly wasn't any "degrees of separation" between you and others. All of your many friends will miss you very much! We are saddened by your passing, and we sure could use a dose of some of your wit and sense of humor at this time."

What can I say? This is a truly saddening occaision for me.
Lee and I had been friends since we met at East Junior High School. We shared a love of film, theater and Phyllis Diller. I will always remember the great times spent at his parents home and the time we worked together at then Binghamton General Hospital and were roomates in the middle seventies. This was also the time we performed together in "Camelot" for GoldenHall Productions, and "1776" for NewArk Productions at Xanadu Dinner Theater.
We had lost touch over the years until a mutual friend remembered we knew each other and Lee and I got re-aquainted through email. When I returned home to the Triple Cities recently, I was able once again to see Lee on occaision and know he was the same funny, sweet man I had always known.
I know he will be missed by many people, me amongst them.
