Fernan, Leo James

Leo "Jim" Fernan, age 72, passed away on July 18, 2016 in Casa Grande, Arizona. Jim was born in Syracuse, New York to the late Francis and Theresa (Gorman) Fernan. He grew up in Binghamton, New York and attended St. Paul's High School graduating in 1962. In 1968 Jim joined the U.S. Border Patrol and retired in 2000 after 33 years of government service. Jim was an avid railroad enthusiast; his family had a combined employment history of over 100 years working on the Erie-Lackawanna railroad. Jim is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda of Casa Grande, AZ; his two sons, Sean (Jill) of Casa Grande, AZ, and Ryan of Kirkland, WA; and two granddaughters. Jim and Linda moved to Casa Grande in 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Art and Mike Fernan.
