Born on October 20, 1929, Madeline graduated from St James Elementary School and Johnson City High School. She worked as a dental hygienist for Dr. Decker and then IBM in Endicott before becoming a "stay at home" mom. After raising her children, Madeline enjoyed her time and many travels with George, who was her best friend and in her words "he made me happy, he made me laugh". Madeline loved her grandchildren dearly and looked forward to attending their many school and athletic events. She enjoyed being a sitter for Monday Moms where she could spend extra time with her grandsons. Madeline also had many special memories of tea parties with her granddaughters with her childhood tea set, also going to the movies and getting manicures with them. A devout Catholic, she was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church where she was involved with the "Knotters", who made and delivered sleeping bags to the homeless.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main St. Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Vestal. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her honor may be made to the American Heart Association or Catholic Charities of Broome County, attn.
