Marlene (Setzer) Hakes
of Vestal
Marlene Hakes, 73, died Saturday, August 16, 2008, with her loving family at her bedside. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Hakes; her father and mother, Willard and Charlotte Setzer; brothers, Vernon, Nathan, Warren and Gerald Setzer; sisters, Pearl Bennett Bruster, Florence Decker. She is survived by her loving son, Michael Hakes; two grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, Avery Hakes and Michelle Hakes; brothers, Gerard Setzer, Donald Setzer; sisters, Venora Batzel, Charlotte (Klym) Petryszyn, Shirley Hurd, Janet (Bruce) Beamer; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Due to Marlene's wishes, there will be no services. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Sorry to hear about your mother's passing. I remember them from when I was a child. Don't remember seeing them much when I was older. She was a sweet lady.

Michael and Family.... May all your memories help you all through this time of sorrow. It is very hard to deal and understand a death of a parent or grandparent. May the Lord help you all at this time. Aunt Marlene is no longer suffering and has joined many of our family watching over us all. You have a tribe of Guardian Angels watching over you and helping you all.
