Michael Tarcha Obituary

Tarcha, Michael David

Michael David Tarcha, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 16, 2015. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary Tarcha in 2008. He is survived by his father, Michael Tarcha; brother, David Tarcha; niece, Sara (Todd) Parsons and nephews, Benjamin and Noah Parsons. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins both here and in Slovakia and by his Godmother Anne Hydock. Michael was an accomplished and published writer and poet. This expertise gave him the ability to assess the value and worth of books as a consultant with Empire Booksellers. Michael enjoyed writing; visiting with friends, old and new, cooking and good conversation, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He especially looked forward to Sunday dinners and playing with Benjamin and Noah who adored him. Michael was also extremely dedicated to his prayer life. The family will receive friends at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 308 N. Page Ave., Endicott, NY on Thursday evening March 19, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. A Memorial Service (Panikhida) will be conducted by Fr. Stephanos Shagoury at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 9 a.m. at St. Nicholas Church. Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Monastery, Jordanville, NY. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate may do so to the St. Nicholas Church Endowment Fund. Arrangements are by the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City. Online condolences can be expressed to the family at www.jfricefuneralhome.com.
