Mildred Rauschmeier Obituary
Mildred H. Rauschmeier
of HillcrestOn Thursday, March 9th, Millie made her final journey home from the house her father built and in the very room where she was born. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Mary Heritage. She reluctantly left behind her family whom she loved dearly, her son, Donald and Sue (Crane) Rauschmeier, Jr.; her daughter, Nancy Coon and Michael DiLuzio; her grandchildren, Rob and Amy Rauschmeier, Derek and Stacy Coon, Sara, Ashley and Kate Crane; and a great-granddaughter, Natalee Sebastianelli. She is also survived by her siblings, Roberta Meaker, Janette Randall, Mike Heritage and Helen Livernoche. Millie was employed by IBM Owego for 23 years, where she proudly became one of their first female managers. For the past 16 years, she has been the Administrative Assistant to the Town of Fenton Tax Assessor. She also worked part-time at Crawford Insurance Co. Besides her family, her greatest joy came from the friends she made through her "Millie's Mania" bus trips to Atlantic City and from playing bingo. She especially treasured her Saturday card-playing girlfriends, Angie Gurney, Betty Gates and Beverly Boyd. Millie was a wonderful friend and, "bless her heart," she was always willing to lend a helping hand. She will be missed terribly by those who loved her. Millie admired Dr. Readling and wanted to thank him for his care and compassion. She was fond of his entire staff and especially enjoyed exchanging crocheting tips with Barb. Although their time with Hospice was short, the family is very grateful for the care and support they received from Lynn and Lisa. A very special thanks to Carol Slick, whose presence helped us all through this difficult time.
Memorial services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Ogden-Hillcrest United Methodist Church, 1065 Chenango Street, Binghamton, with her Pastor, Rev. Horace King, officiating. Burial will be in Chenango Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc., 428 Main Street, Johnson City, on Saturday from 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her grandson, Derek's musical group, "The Rainbow Players," Chester B. Lord, 67 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
