Nicholas Drobot
of Windsor
Nicholas Drobot, age 91, passed away Wednesday morning, June 22, 2005, at his home unexpectedly. He is predeceased by his wife, Rose (Zavada) 1998. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Roseann I. and William Melious, Windsor; one son, Nicholas J. Drobot, Johnson City; five grandchildren, Chad, Shannon, Ethan, Lisa, Christa; three great-grandchildren, Jessica, Brooke, and Wyatt. Nicholas was a longtime member of the S.S. Cyril & Method Church. He also belonged to many organizations at St. Cyril's including president of the men's club, secretary of the bowling league, also Manager of the bowling alley, Altar Rosary Society, usher, etc. Along with his wife, Rose, they had spent many hours volunteering at the church in their earlier years. He was a veteran of WWII in which he had served as a radio operator in the U.S. Army.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday 9:00 a.m. from the Sedlock Funeral Home, Inc., 161 Clinton St., Binghamton, and at 9:30 at St. Cyril's where a funeral mass will be offered for him. Burial will be in the Slovak Catholic Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Sedlock Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday evening from 4 - 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those wishing may make memorial donations in Nicholas' name to the St. Cyril's Renovation Fund 148 Clinton St., Binghamton, 13905.
