Mitrus, Nicholas

Nicholas Mitrus, 100, of Binghamton passed peacefully while sleeping Sunday August 20, 2017. Nicholas is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Amy; and many friends and neighbors. He worked many years before retiring in 2008 as a Sales Manager in Vestal. He served in the US Army during both WWII and the Korean Conflict. Nick was a talented musician playing the Saxophone locally for over 65 year often with his bands, Firebird and Jolly Guys. He and his wife were avid gardeners and known to have the largest garden in the neighborhood. There were never separated which continued in their Golden Years as they continued to care for one another.

A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Savage Family Center 338-344 Conklin Ave Binghamton, NY 13903 with Rev. Mark Kimpland officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 am until the time of service at the Savage Family Center with full military honors. Friends may express condolences online at www.SavageFS.com. Arrangements by Savage-DeMarco Funeral Home, Endicott.
