Robert Helmich Obituary
of Chenango ForksRobert P. Helmich, 72, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 12, 2005. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Ralph Hoyt, Binghamton; son, Kevin Helmich, Binghamton; daughter, Karen Helmich, Johnson City; grandchildren, Jason Kitchen, Fla., Nicole Kitchen, Endwell, Ashley Helmich, Johnson City, Scott and Kaitlynn Hoyt, Binghamton, Nikki Hoyt, N.C.; cousins, Alex and Cindy; and many close friends. He was a Korean Conflict POW and a Tiger Survivor. He was an avid fisherman and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, 1 p.m. at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, with Rev. John R. Martinichio, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 12 Noon until the time of service. Robert's interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery Friday, February 4, 2005, 1 p.m., with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers those wishing kindly consider memorial contributions to Lourdes Hospice, 169 Riverside Drive, Binghamton 13905.
