Ruth Victoria Fulkerson Lasky of Dryden, N.Y., formerly of Endicott, N.Y., died Saturday, November 17, 2007, at age 86. Devoted wife of the late Leonard L. Lasky who died in 1991; mother of sons, Robert Lasky who lives in Norwell, Mass. and Gareth Lasky living in Salem, Oreg.; grandmother of Sara Lasky, Todd Lasky, and Sean Lasky; great-grandmother of Nicole Lasky, Emma Lasky, Max Lasky, Brady Lasky, and Kylie Lasky, all living in Mass. Ruth is survived by her brother, Victor Fulkerson, living in Freeville, N.Y.; and her sister, Loie Hagen, who lives in Dryden, N.Y. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews in the greater Dryden area who have been most helpful in Ruth's living changes in recent years. Ruth was born in West Dryden, a daughter of the late Victor and Nellie Gibson Fulkerson. She graduated from Dryden High School where she was class president and active in the performing arts. Ruth and Leonard lived in Amsterdam, Endicott, Endwell, and Dryden, N.Y. She retired from General Electric in 1990. In addition to her family, Ruth loved cats, kittens, poker, and country music. She was also an excellent cook who enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 24th, 2007, at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Austin of the Freeville United Methodist Church officiating. All friends, relatives, and acquaintances are invited to share memories of her life. Burial will follow in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of CNY, 441 West Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, N.Y. 13204.
