Ruth M. Weir
of Endwell
Ruth M. Weir, 88, of Endwell, N.Y., passed away on October 17, 2008 at the Hilltop Campus of the United Methodist Homes. She had her family by her side. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert J. Weir, Sr. in 1987. She is survived by her sons and their spouses, Robert Jr. and Dorothy Weir, Binghamton, and Donald and Sandra Weir, Scottsdale, Ariz.; and by her brother and his wife, Harold and Betty Klobetanz, Hollidaysburg, Pa. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Judith Weir, Harrisburg, Pa., Gregory Weir, Charlotte, N.C., Pamela Weir, Northampton, Mass., and James and Kimberly Weir and their children, Endwell. Ruth met her husband when she was a volunteer with the USO during WWII. Ruth retired from the State of New York Department of Transportation and was an active member of the Broome West Senior Community Center for over 20 years, where she received many honors and recognitions.
Friends may call on Monday, October 20, 2008, from 3-5 p.m. at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott, with the Reverend Douglas Taylor officiating.
