Ruth Taylor Yeager passed away on March 27, 2008 at home in the house built by her father. She was born in Montrose on February 6, 1926 to Louis E. and Mabel Davies Taylor who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by uncles, Maurice D. and Charles Taylor. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jack R. Yeager; children, John, Lawrence (Mary), James (Linda Rafos) Yeager, and Lynne (Robert) Bruzek; grandchildren, Amanda, Brian, and Justine Yeager; Michael (Melissa) and Sarah Bollinger; great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Megan Bollinger; siblings, Grace (Herb) McCullough, Lakeland, Fla., Esther (Joe) Welden, Montrose, Pa., Elmer (Rebecca) Taylor, Montrose, Pa., Richard (Cindy) Taylor, Reinholds, Pa. She then enrolled at Bloomsburg University specializing in special needs students. After graduating with a B.S. in Special Education, she returned to an NEIU 19 classroom for socially and emotionally disturbed children. Ruth was a longtime member of the Montrose United Methodist Church; she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school classes, and served on many committees. She created "Knits for Kids" which provided mittens and sweaters for the church Christmas store. She also volunteered for Literacy Council, helping adults obtain their G.E.D.'s.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Montrose United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008, with Rev. Deborah R. Rose officiating. Interment will be held in the Montrose Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be at the Daniel K.
